A Quiet Reminder

My marriage and the tribulations it has gone through is not 'new news'.  It is known I was unfaithful and continued to be unfaithful.  It is also known that my husband forgave me and we continue to grow in a new love for each other.  I make a choice every day to love my husband and my family.  He chooses to forgive me and teaches me unconditional love, daily.  My husband loves me as Jesus does (maybe not as much - but pretty darn close!) Just the other day, my Facebook Timehop reminded me that I struggled 3 years ago.  A post requesting prayer for my kids and myself.  Another stated getting rid of 250 lbs. and even another reminded  me that something terrible had happened between Christmas and New Years 2011. I asked my husband if he re-called what happened 3 years ago, he couldn't remember either.   I literally racked my brain for awhile wondering what in the world could have happened and I got nothing.  The thought quickly left m...

What's Next

Ok.  This is a question I often ask myself, especially  lately.  I keep thinking it's going to just appear to me and I guess I'm a little impatient.  I think I am more concerned for my husband. Here's why. For 5 years, my husband was a Youth Director/Teacher/Pastor (sort of). He dedicated his Tuesday Evenings and endless weekends to the youth at our church. We hit a huge bump,ok a 'brick wall'.  We came to our pastor for help and at  the time,  and was denied assistance.  In turn,we hit rock bottom in our marriage and our ministry was taken away from us. It has been over a year and still my husband is like a 'bitter old man' about it. How do you help a person  that won't do the 'Christian' thing and forgive and move on.  He seems to not take his own advice and hope for a new start. God does have plans for him,for us, yet he doesn't see it. I want us to be on fire for God once again, yet I get brought down by this negative ene...

What a Feeling!

My husband and I attended our church's "Working Class" Bible Study today, something we haven't done in quite some time. During the study, both my husband and I felt comfortable enough to reach out to these people we once called family, after all, this IS where our journey began 7 years ago. After we confessed our sins, so to speak, it was evident that these people, this church, loved us and has forgiven us.  I can honestly say, something changed in my husband and I today.  We are on the road to recovery, on the road back to where we came from, on the road home. I can't express how elated I am that these bonds, these burdens, are now broken. I can't wait to see what the Lord, our God, has in store for me, my husband, our marriage and ultimately our family. Thanks be to God. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and hope.  Jeremiah 29:11.

When one door closes...

I truly never really BELIEVED this statement until Tuesday of this week--after 4.5 years of service, my position at my job is being eliminated (eff. June 30, 2011). 2 days ago - I was a basket case, but now not so much. When I went home Tuesday afternoon to discuss things with my husband. He first told me, everything was going to be ok. That's what I needed to hear. Over the next day, we really, literally prayed about it. We have decided that our finances aren't GREAT, however, I will be a stay at home mom throughout the summer. Also--I plan to finally pursue my degree in Health Information Management. This is not a set in stone plan, but it does have my nerves calm a bit... I never thought in a million years I would depend on my husband as much as I have been the past couple of days--I am finally just going to put it out there--I am very proud of him, proud of him for stepping up and telling me it's going to be ok. Stepping up and telling me we will be fine. Someti...
