Notes:

Me > Generational > Church > Society > Creation

Jesus reads the scroll: this is being fulfilled!

Scroll of Isaiah:  Isaiah 61 Isaiah 45 - 61 (turnhinge) massionic process, people are carted away in exile, no resource, a turn in the story.  Isaiah 61  (Luke 4:18-19)

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,

    because he has anointed me

to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners

and recovery of sight for the blind,

to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Luke 4:18-19

Jesus is talking about the physically and spiritually poor, blind, prisoners, oppressed.

Notes:

Children's Illiteracy:

  1. Children are one of the most vulnerable demographics in our society
  2. Illiteracy is a root-cause issue.
    • If they learn to read (by 8 or 9 years old), trajectory of their lives changes!
    • It's strategic, it's concrete!
  3. When it comes to kids, it's a hot-button issue with Jesus!

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”

- Jesus, Matthew 18:6
